2 many nesting boxes?

I have 5 girls and have had 2 nesting boxes from the beginning until several days ago. They have been using both nesting boxes (4 using one and the 1 using the other). With the winter coming up, (my first winter), I thought that I might need to give them more room in their coop, so I took out one of the boxes. Now I'm finding that one of them is laying her egg anywhere (including the dropping board). Should I put it back in or let her figure it out? I'm getting a poopy egg now.

I think I'd add it back in. It is what they were used to and you don't want them to get into the habit of laying in places other than the nesting boxes.

Yeah, I'm thinking I should have done that before they went in to roost. Hopefully she will go in the nesting bo in the morning, , if not, it will go back in tomorrow. Thanks!
