2 new chicks

Update...day one has not gone TOO bad so far. I implemented the different suggestions! THANK you @azygous @aart @HappyDancin'
@FT Chickens @Citychickengal for all your help and support so far! Stand by JUST in case things go south...lol!

The 2 new chicks have figured out quick escape routes and paths when needed. I put the 4 top hens in the coop and left the 2 new girls with the 2 bottom hens until they relaxed and got things figured out. The 2 bottom hens were pretty relaxed with the new girls...and figured just 2 new hens would seem less intimidating until the 2 newbies figured the run structure. Then I let everyone out together. And seemed to help the process!

At this point the 2 newbies are not getting chased too much and everyone is hanging out it different areas of the run.

I am going to set up a little area fenced off in the run for when my friend is not there to monitor until we are a little more comfortable with leaving them all roaming free in the coop!

WHEW!! Can't wait to get back to my peaceful girls!!!! How do I get myself into these things my hubby asks!!!

It sounds like things are going pretty well. It could be worse.

Probably the husband has hobbies and interests that occasionally lead him into alligator infested water, too.

'Day 2 is going well!!

I did a staggered release into the run so the new chicks weren't too overwhelmed or ganged up on by the group...seems to have worked well!!! Some chasing...NOTHING major and everyone's hanging out in the run.

New chicks are getting braver about wandering the run and 6 original chicks aren't so bothered by them. Fingers crossed we continue down this path!!!!

Plenty of cool snacks for all!!! It's HOT!!!

Day 3...harmony is starting to happen among the gang! 2 new chicks followed the group to roost last night!!! still kept their distance...snuggling together a foot away from the 6.

Think the 6 original girls are starting to accept the 2 new girls, letting them roam around without chasing and the 2 new ones are relaxing and not panicing whenever the others come their direction
