2 roosters.

Our 2 roos were born together, meaning we hatched all of our chicks. Our last 2 roos have been together for many months after the other 3 left to a new home. They were 'BUDS' for about a week or 2 and then all of a sudden our white leghorn mix 'told' our EE that he had NO SAY SO in the run or coop. That was it of their friendship and the EE was coop bound for nearly 2 months. They didn't fight too often, only if Tiney Einie would come out of the coop, but it was mostly 'talk' and then Little Boy would run him back into the coop. We had to feed him and water him in the coop, give him speacial treats all in the coop.

Now Little Boy is gone to a new home (we would rather had kept him), but the lady who took him, my cousins, said that the EE would not last in their bunch. He would have to 'show' the others that he could run a flock as well.

He is 'trying' to tell me that he is the dominant one now, but he has another think coming. Our run is only 8 feet long and about 4 feet wide, so I can easily keep on eye on him while I am in there cleaning or whatever. I do carry an old handle that came off my good rake, so he knows to stay back.

Good luck with the roos. Hope you can keep both. We would have if we had had another place to put one of them and we would have gotten him a few pullets as well.

I have a Brown Star roo, he is 2 1/2 years old. I got 6 Black Splash, 1 day old chicks 1 1/2 years ago. I ended up with two roos, I call them the babies. Well Sheldon is the dominant roo, he keeps the babies in line. Until yesterday! One baby attacked his brother. His brother is not long for this world, I have to humanely put him down. Both are going, I have tried to get rid of them, nobody wanted them. Everyone's experiences are different, and I am no expert, but I have promised my husband that I will only have one roo at a time.
This is just my humble opinion, I hate any animal to be hurt because of my own bad decision!

If the RIR is running, he probably lost his position and the BR is just giving occasional reminders. The worst is likely over, and they are setting up the new pecking order. You probably have enough hens for the roosters. But roosters can be a bit unpredictable, sometimes it just takes what seems to be a little change to us and the roosters decide to debate the pecking order. Fortunately my rooster have shared a coop well for over 2 years.
