We have 8 chicks who will be two weeks old tomorrow. Everyone has been doing great. Yesterday, we took them for a short field trip outside for the first time. It was 75 degrees out and I brought their heater for them. We had a friend with us who was new to chicks and flipped them all out a bit unfortunately. Anyway, all this just for context.
this morning I noticed our barred rock “yawning” and stretching her neck several times. Then she started wiping her nose on the floor. And it appears that she is breathing harder than usual - her whole body is kind of heaving. She also appears more sleepy than usual and possible holding her wings lower too.
otherwise acting normal - eating and drinking and moving around.
It’s tough to tell because they grow so fast - they’re different every day. Any ideas about the heavy breathing and other symptoms? Will keep you posted if things
