Hi all,
First time posting here. We have 11 baby girls in our brooder at just about 2 weeks old. I noticed that one of the girls was straining to poop and the vent was severely inflamed. (See pics below).
I was able to run her behind under warm water and very gently massage her vent until the tremendous poop worked it’s way out of her. Make that 3 poops. She’s acting fine now but I have her separated from the others in a separate brooder to avoid pecking.
This is my first time raising a flock but I am a seasoned human RN so I’m a bit more comfortable with icky tasks than most. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to keep these girls comfortable and healthy.
Is there anything I should be putting on it or giving to her? Thank you in advance!
