The hubs and I made a deal... AND shook on it. For the rest of the rooms, I will take down the wall paper and he will tape off the trim. Although the taping took less time and was technically easier, it was a total PITA.... and the WORST part of the entire process.... no joke.

Lay it down, peel it back up, reset, put it down again, nope folded over, tear a new piece, lay it down... air pocket so it's not laying right, peel it back up and lay it down again. Now it's not sticky enough to stay, even though it's perfectly in line with where it needs to be. Cuss a LOT at the tatering TAPE THAT WON'T LAY TATERING FLAT!!!

Awesome. I love the looks of a freshly painted room. And I HATE HATE HATE HATE!!! Painters tape. Any time I use it, when I remove it, it tears the fresh latex paint that I've just applied. I won't use the stuff.

Just switching the covers shouldn't require turning off the power, however with you poking around with a screw driver there is nothing wrong with a better safe than sorry approach.

She's also replacing the white switches & outlets w/ black ones (w/ usb ports!!) so they match the furniture she's putting in the room.

Yeah, i skip that step and use an angled brush. Of course we live in a log cabin now, so not much needs painting.
