2 yolk fertile turkey egg

I candled my eggs last night to check air sacs and development, and noticed what I believe to be two fertile yolks. We lost the hen to an owl almost 2 weeks ago amd it was her first and only egg of her life, and I would really hate to lose the possible poult(s). I've been doing A LOT of research on the topic amd haven't found any useful information regarding hatch rates for them. Has anybody had successful hatches from twin yolked eggs? Thanks!

From what I've looked up it is possible, but unlikely they both will make it! But hopefully someone with more experience will reply soon!

Yes..I hatched Twin Chicks about 3 weeks ago..I didn't even know it was twins because I don't candle too often. I just look for movement.

They are sold and live at my friends place..The night before I cleared all empty egg shells from my incubator.. woke up to 3 Chicks and a fourth hatching..Only 3 empty shells in my incubator..Started with 18 eggs and would of had 19 if all hatched..They are healthy..

I use the hatch-a-batch app to help keep an accurate timeline, and right now it (they) are on day 13. Day 14 starts tonight just before 7. I will be able to know when they're ready to hatch and so some assisting. I can keep this post updated as I go, too! I could have sworn there was two yolks with 2 moving gobblers, so I'm really hoping they could both make it. Every article I've read about multiple yolks is in reference to eating turkey eggs, and how common double yolks are. But never one about hatching. I didn't know if they'd hatch prematurely, or how it would work, or if it would even work. The turkey egg itself is the same size as the other, but it is white with light speckles, so it is much easier to see through. Fingers crossed!

My twins egg never looked any different in size..

That is extremely reassuring! The mother hen was a bourbon red, and my other hen and tom are royal palms. I would HATE for either of them to not make it.

Quick update. Everything seems as healthy and on time as can be as far as air sac and growth goes. Fingers crossed!
