My 2 year old isa brown feels full of air. She is walking 'bow legged' and just looks bloated. Her weight has not changed. She keeps moving her backside like she's trying to poop and just seems uncomfortable. She is eating and drinking. The only thing thats happened is I cleaned her behind feathers yesterday because they are drity.

Can you get some photos of her poop?
When did she last lay an egg?

You mention she feel full of air - is that her abdomen below the vent between her legs or her crop?

Sounds like it MIGHT be egg binding. If so, you can try soaking her in a warm epsom salt bath (I use a large bucket for my hens) to see if you can get her to push the egg out. The nice thing about the epsom salt bath is it won’t hurt her if she isn’t egg bound (just make sure she’s dry before going outside or that the weather is nice so she can dry off before it cools off).

I'm sorry to hear she died.

What was the procedure being given?
I went to rural king and got some 18 gauge syringes. I used betadine to clean her skin and 'tapped' her abdominal cavity just to the right of her vent. I got straw colored fluid but she passed while I was working on her. My guess is her heart stopped from being anasarcous.
