2009 Hatching Eggs List

Hi Gatekeeper, I'd like to buy a dozen Buckeye eggs. Those are beautiful birds you have there, and I want some good quality birds to start with! Thanks.

Jenny you are on the list. I will fill the orders as I get them and after I am certain I have good fertility. I am keeping far more roosters in my flock then needed. I normally run 4 hens to 1 rooster.

Thanks for asking. I am going to post closer pictures so you can get a better look at the birds.

I always send plenty of extras if I have them!

Thanks so much! I've been keeping an eye out for breeders with good quality birds of the ones I want.

I'm also looking for Delawares and standard Cornish, but didn't see them on your list. Do you know a good breeder with either of those?

Many of you at BYC have expressed and interest in eggs from my flock.

My girls are slowly beginning to lay. I figure by the end of January - beginning of February we will be in full swing. I will offer a 15 egg mixed selection of fertile eggs that will consist of whatever we have on hand that hasn't been sold. All eggs will be NO more than 24-36 hrs old when shipped.

Currently our rooster to hen ratio is 1 to 4.

I have plenty of pictures of my birds.

Our new website is under construction - it is not up yet but we have a domain name and site.

I will offer extras on the 15 egg orders. To be honest, you will get 18 eggs. I am not sure where the practice started of saying, "you are ordering 10 eggs - you get extras" and 12 show up or a few more.

Realistically for the most part most sellers plan on sending the extras and just include the "extras" in the price.

In the "15" egg assortment; there is no promise of which type eggs will be sent. There will however be 4-5 varieties in each order. The assortment may include bantams, rare breed and standard.

ALL EGGS WILL BE FROM PURE BRED STOCK. All our or breeders are separated.

All orders will be shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays. On the rare occasion when there is an order in a surrounding state; I will consider mailing on a Wednesday IF you can get mail delivery on Saturday.

All prices INCLUDE shipping and there is no guarantee of fertility because of handling by the USPS. All eggs are shipped with an identification code on each egg. If there is a problem with any order please contact me immediately.

Here is the list of eggs that will be available:

Bantams
Dk Brahmas
Frizzles
Porcelain d'Uccles
Black Japanese
Golden Sebrites
Silver Sebrites
Cochins
Belgium Quail

Larger Breeds
Salmon Faverolle
Buckeyes

I know the lakenvelders are a standard breed, but the ones in your pic look rather tiny? Are the lakenvelders just a small standard? I definitely want some Lakenvelders eggs! Where did you get your birds from? I am bidding on an ebay auction right now, that just so happens to be from The Farmers Wife.

Oh, and I would like a dozen Lakenvelders eggs, when available. It has not been cold here much lately, so let me know when you will have them available!

ETA: What color are your frizzles and bantam cochins?
