2009 Quilt block of the month - February

Really nice job on those blocks girls. I am working on my machine again it is giving me fits. The guy who fixes them says 2 or 3 months till he can clean it, and that is if I leave it there for him to clean and if it needs repairs up to 2 more months. I can't just make an appointment and bring it in a few days before.

Man I hate repair men, he is trying to sell me a new machine do you think that is his sales pitch. He is the only viking repair shop around

Ask me how I feel about that.

Yes, now you know what I want for Christmas and you have more than enough time to sew about 30 of those blocks.

zoo--I'm sorry to hear about your machine problems. I worked in sewing factories for so many years that I learned all the ropes of fixing my own, the only part I wouldn't nail down was the "have to have patience at this point" part. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Thanks Acre, I know the problem it is dirty, it is 11 years old and I never took it in for cleaning as he wants to keep it 2 or 3 months. It is a great little machine but the dust bunnies have been having a field day. If I knew how to take it apart I would clean it myself. But my luck I would really break it and then what would I do.

I am planning a new machine but I want my long arm first, that is $2500 and looks like I might be able to get it this year, with in a few months, pending no emergancy.

Happy sewing ya all, now I am off to search this thread to see if I can find the link to the 12 inch blocks that someone posted on here.

I got my block from Sara in the mail today, It's very pretty and it will go well with the block I got from piecemaker earlier. If I can get this problem figured out with the camera/computer I'll post pics of them.

Patches is busy making a stack of blocks for the big swap, she posted last night. Sent your fabric yesterday Acre and Leepsy's block so all my 3 are delivered for the month...gonna work on the list of everyone else like Zoo suggested, in groups of earth tones, anything goes, chickeny.... also starting to get brave enough to think about Christmas gifts like lap quilts!

Thoses blocks are really really nice. I plan on mailing mine today. I will try to take a picture tonight. T

Thanks for the info. Scrambled Egg. When I see that someone hasn't posted I get concerned that something may have come up.

I sure hope everyone is having a great time with the swap and you gals (and guys) keep up the good work, oh my at some of the blocks pictured here.

That reminds me.....I have to get another block done. I sent skands off on Monday, so she should get it today or tomorrow.
