My son brought home a poem he wrote at school: (he's 9 years old)


Its Dark in here

I am writing these poems from inside a lion,
And its rather dark in here.
So please excuse the handwriting,
Which might not be to clear.

But this afternoon by the lions cage,
I'm afraid I got to near.
And I'm writing these lines from inside a lion
And its rather dark in here

I do really like it, and I am impressed with how it all fits together. I found some fabric with all the different states on it that I am going to use for the backing on the quilt when I put them all together, and put what state everbody's block comes from on it. And thanks for finding the picture for me.

Wild, that is a neat poem, and he is only 9?, Looks like we have the making of the next Poet Laureate there.

I am new at this too, so any block will be appreciated.

I checked out the Suwannee Valley Quilt Shop in Trenton, the town closest to me, yesterday and boy could you spend some major bucks in there. The fabric is beautiful, though. They are planning a major quilt show in March and I will be going. Last year it was wonderful. Always wanted to make a quilt, I just don't have much expertise in that area. Love to sew though.

I just got a bowl of Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream with strawberries. Don't you just hate it when you fix your bowl and there is a little ice cream left in the carton, not enough for some one else so you are forced to eat that little bit. And now you have a BIG bowl of ice cream. Oh well some one has to eat that little bit
