Sorry thought the contest was still open. OH well here is what I used

I just used an empty Styrofoam container that they use to ship tropical fish in to the stores.

For heat I have a 50 wt light connected to an old aquarium heater minus the heating element.

The floor is just bent hardware cloth.

for humidity Im using a cat dish.

I know this closed long ago but I'm posting here because sometimes people get confused about wiring their incubator. I also know someone else has a very good wiring chart but I want my 2 cents hehe.

When installing it all, make sure the BACK of the thermostat is close to the bulb. Around 3" and with some playing around, you can get zero variation in temp, but leave it a while before playing with it because you'll get some weird swings at first till the whole thing is settled in.

I promised to inform you how the breed has gone. I have 54 eggs laid into my freezer incubator to breed up to 18 days. On the 19th day I have 50 fertilized eggs transferred to the still air incubator for the eggs to hatch. Unfortunately, I knocked at the thermostat and the temperature was too high for 2 hours, about 103 Fahrenheit. Unfortunately, some died but I still have 27 beautiful chicks. Greetings Arie

I dont khow how to post picts yet, but Ive started building my first incubator to let the kids get more involved with the chickens.

im using a waterbed heating pad for a heat source, and so far Lights are not needed for heat( only for viewing )
99.5 to 100.7 degrees

Im using a chick waterer for humidity, and my humidity level is staying around 55%

Its nothing more than an old ice chest,

and a weather forcaster with remote sensor(clearanced from walmart)

ive spent 21 dollars so far, and all it lacks is an egg shelf, and turner..

I hope ive crossed all the Ts on this cause Ive got 4 kiddos dieing to start hatching their own babies:^}
