2010 MN Swap Dates

I'll be at the Watanwon County Poultry Patrol in St. James on saturday morning. I wouldn't mind a good sale, but an open class show close to home is too hard to resist.

Does any one know when the Stillwater Houle feed store swap is? I am trying to find the date.l The Forest Lake Houle swap is on May 8th at 7:00 in there parking lot. I will be there selling chicks for sure. Look for a tan stationwagon. The Stillwater swap is usually the week before or the week after. I'd really like to make that one too.

Is there usually alot of chickens at these swaps? Anything other than chickens? Any chance that someone might bring quail (my sister is looking for a few hens)? What kind of chicks are you selling?

There are all kinds of animals at the Forest Lake swap. Rabbits, pigeons, quail, goats, geese, peacocks etc. I am planning on bringing some bantam chicks that are half silkie and half barred cochin, Easter egger and possibly phoenix if they hatch out. Chicks will be newborn to about 3 weeks old.

That sounds like it might be fun. Could you give me directions on were it is in Forest Lake? If this is just in the parking lot, is there a gate fee? Do chickens have to be tested?
Anyone else on here going?

Look for the grain elevator. Its the tallest building in town. Otherwise look for the corner of highway 61 and broadway. Its just in the parking lot. There are no fees.

ETA: I thought I'd play around on the computer and see what I could find. I couldn't find a phone number for the Stillwater Houle feed store but I did find one for Forest Lake. I called them and they said the swap at Stillwater was last week.

I know, I missed it. Drat! Chickenaddict went and said that it rained hard at about 8:00 and everyone left. But there were sales going on before 8:00. The one in Forest Lake is usually larger. It starts early! As soon as the sun is up there will be people there trading. There is also one in Isanti the same day at the co-op there. The Isanti one doesn't start until 9:00 so you could do both swaps. I guess that there is also one in Princeton that morning but I have never been to that one.
