2010 MN Swap Dates

Hey Amy, do you know if Smith Poultry Supply is going to be at the 4-10 swap in New Ulm? Was the last swap busy and do you know if this one will be?
My sister and I went to Hutchinson last weekend and we were kinda disappointed-not alot there.

Smith has never come up to the BCPPA swaps to my knowledge. We had about 330 people over 16 at the gates at the last New Ulm swap. Since it is on a saturday this time I really don't know if it will make a difference in turnout. I have to work that day so won't be able to make it. Amy

That is alot of shows and swaps!

Ditto.... I won't even be able to make ours this weekend. My lovely workplace scheduled a $25 grand blackjack tournament friday night and all day saturday. I am planning on going to the WCPP show on the 24th in St. James though.

Wow, reading this thread makes me ill to my stomach at what I'm facing. I'm originally from MN, and have had a few backyard birds most all of my life. But I didn't get into the numbers of birds I have now and showing poultry until I moved to FL in '02. Now I'm planning to move back to MN in June or so, and good grief, I don't know where to start. I'm cutting way back on numbers, but am still bringing a good amount of birds in with me. Can anyone tell me the first step in getting them in? I'll have poultry, turkeys, calls & other waterfowl. I am NPIP certified here in FL. But what am I going to need to get into MN with my flock? And where can I find the information to sign up for the tester course? Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

As an afterthought, I realize I probably placed this comment in the wrong section. My apologies. To not get this thread off track, can you PM me your response please?

To answer most of your questions, it would be the best to call the MPTL (320) 231-5170. I also have the private cell of the state vet if you would rather call him. They handle pretty much all this.

Did anyone go to Waverly on the 11th? Was there alot there? Any good deals?
Is anyone going to the April 24th West Central Wisconsin Pigeon & Poultry Club Swap? Has anyone been there before? Is it fairly large? Do you know if there is usually any game birds (quail, peafowl or pheasants) or is it mostly just pigeons and chickens? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
