Especially the Bold.

I am a younger member and I do play some of the games, but I am also here to learn. By saying we dont have enough experience to be answering questions, or that you dont like our questions is kinda mean. BYC is supposed to be a family friendly forum where people of all ages can participate. If you dont like the games section then dont visit it.

I truly wish that people wouldn't assume that when the words 'adult conversation' come up, I or anyone else is referring to 'adult rated' subject matter.

For the record, 'adult conversation' is any conversation which is discussed in an adult manner, by anyone who has previously graduated from the 12th grade. For instance, I cannot justify a discussion about the stresses of the workplace with a 12 year old, because a 12 year old has absolutely no idea what the ADULT working world consists of. To make it chicken related, I'd like to be able to post the reasons for culling a chicken without have 25 ten year old's posting little crying smilies. And as I've stated previously, the amount of 'Lets Play the BYC Favorite Roosterzzz' type games has gotten a little out of hand. It nearly seems as if BYC has become a babysitter of sorts... "Here honey, why dont you play on BYC while mommy finishes dinner." And then whaddaya know... we have another 'Nomin8 the prettiest henzzz' thread.

I'm all about this being a 'g' rated forum, but some degree of child/adult seperation shouldn't be a problem.

I completely agree with this. Plus, this made me laugh:p

I don't know that's it's what you have in mind, but there IS a way to filter out the Social part, which includes the Games.

It's a bit awkward to use, but better than the alternative. Just requires a change of habits really, though it would be nice to have it made easier to find.

Yes, Me, ChickieBooBoo and 77Horses are right. If you don't like GJF, Thanks to Ranchhand, Filter it out! You could also click the little "-" minus arrow at the end of the "Social" blue part to hide it. And, just because we are under 18 does NOT mean our info is not useful and we get curious does not mean we should be basically, BANNED from the site. I hope you undestand. I only have 6 chooks, but by reading some younger peoples posts and topics, I know answer others injuries for the helpfulnes of it!

I, personally, enjoy the Games section. Though, I would not mind one bit if it was to be removed. Younger viewers have other websites that they may use as alternatives. I think that children enjoy this forum more, because they can relate with the people here better; people that love chickens. Also, the kids realize that this forum is safe and completely free of foul language and inappropriate topics. It's an informative forum that has a vast and responsible staff. I noticed that most of the kids that post in the games section also come to learn and to ask for help, just as the adults would.

I would also like an explanation, out of mere curiousity, as to why the adults are so immensely bothered by the roleplays. Do you loathe them because of your own opinion that they're stupid? Do you think that they're simply over-the-top? We roleplayers have spoken amongst ourselves for a resolution, reduced the numbers of roleplays, which, I agree that there were far too many; and we even made our own website so that we can leave you alone. But still, the question remains, why are you so disturbed by them? We see roleplays as a way for the budding writers and storytellers to share our imagination, ideas, and to express ourselves, just as a dancer or singer would.

Hey everyone, thanks for the feedback and ideas.

Please, let's keep this thread free of debate and lengthy discussions on one specific point. If you want to have a friendly discussion about specific aspects, please start a new thread.

Now, let's get back on track regarding new features.

Cheers!

-You can't cram topics like Showing chickens, Breeding chickens, Chicken genetics, and Chicken Breeds/ Color variations all into one section, especially since BYC has become breeder's central online location for sharing tips and getting noticed. There so, I think that the "Breeds, Genetics, and Showing" section should be split up into two or three different sections...Because if you think about it, the topics listed above are quite diverse. For example, one of the new sections can be called "Breeding and genetics" for people to tell about their various projects and to ask questions related to breeding chickens. Another section can be the "Showing and preparing for Show" section. There, people can share tips on showing chickens and discuss the standard, etc. Another section can be designated for discussing specific breeds, but this topic can also be covered by one of the example sections shown.

Realize that almost everyone on the forum breeds and shows chickens and one section is not sufficient for us.

-Also, I think you should kill the "Online Poultry Show" section. Nobody follows the rules. Their threads can be moved to "Games, Jokes & fun" or "Pics & stories of chickens" sections.

-Please create a section on turning your poultry hobby into a business. There is no place to post tips or ideas for this topic, and with an economy like this, it would be extra helpful to those interested.

BYC staff, please leave feedback. Thanks
