Yes, that's why I asked.

So now it is official. I canceled the order with McMurray because I got worried about their over Sunday lay over. Did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions and finally made the decision last night. I ordered the following from Privett Nursery in NM which is the same as many of the feed stores around here...I am just eliminating the middle man :)

5 Califronia Greys....super excited about these. They aren't really common they lay a white egg and are not flighty like many white egg layers

5 Speckled Sussex...hope to end up with a broody mama

5 Delawares...Love them. Personality wise they are my favorite breed so far

5 Easter Eggers....Looking forward to colorful egg baskets

5 Black Sex Links...My Red Sex links are outstanding layers and I think the Black Stars are beautiful. Beauty and productivity!!!

In addition if I can find Partridge Rocks in a feed store close to me around the same time as these guys get here I will scoop up some of them too.

Bring on the baby pics chickie mamas!

Nice variety! You should have a pretty color mix in the coop and the egg basket. My SS wasn't into motherhood either but they are known to make good moms so you might get lucky. An EE is my most likely candidate;you just never know.

Just ordered my little ones this morning! I ordered 10 chicks total, two Buff Orpingtons, two White Leghorns, two Black Australorps, two Easter Eggers, and two Golden Campines. Hopefully they all turn out to be girls like I ordered. I was hoping for an April shipment, but they weren't able to have the Golden Campines until May, so they will be here about May 8th!

I don't know how im going to make it through the next 88 days though...

Good Luck! My wait is only 5 more days and a wake up. I think having 2.5 week old chicks in the brooder now has helped me keep my excitement for my pending order at least a little under control. Thing is, I am getting most of the chickens I have pined over for the past 2 years in Friday's order. Next on my list will be Cream Legbars and Coronation Sussex and maybe a pair of Olandsk Dwarf from Greenfire Farms next spring.
