Kurokitsune - I had thought about Cochins but went with the Brahma instead. I don't know if I would be able to figure out two feather footed breeds in the mix

Order 70 chicks from Hoover hatchery and only got 67 chicks 3 DOA! Second day 13 dies.. All in all I lost 20 chicks in three days. Bad luck I guess...

Thanks shido! They only refund me for the boiler not the leghorns.. I got 20 dead yellow chicks not sure which is which.. lol

ok i have 2 weeks left before my MPC order gets shipped and I am too excited.
i just added another chick to my order, Blue Orpington pullet , I wanted 2 but they only had one available not sure how they know this when they haven't hatched yet but I am psyched(sp?).

Only 2 days until my next chick order is due to hatch and ship out! So excited for this group! My cackle order from February is doing great. Still have 24 of the 26 that arrived. The breeds are Delawares, Barred Rocks and/or Cuckoo Marans. There are 23 pullets and 1 cockerel. My 10 meat chicks are now 5 weeks old and are all doing great! Same with my 83 coturnix quail chicks where there are 28 males, 52 females and the remaining 3/4 white quail. Ill post pics of them all soon!
