2014 Hatchery Chick Orders

Hmm.. My chicks were supposed to ship out 4/23, but I got a email from Ideal on 4/22 saying: Just a Reminder! Your poultry order has been shipped and I should expect delivery in the next 72 hours. Has anyone had their chicks ship out on a Tuesday from them? If this is true, I could be getting them in less than an hour!

Same here!!!! I actually got 4 emails tuesday night, only one had my name and address on it and said ship date 4/23. (im)patiently waiting for the po to call!! What did you order?

Same! I got 4 emails as well! They all said the same thing pretty much, but there were 4 of them.

I ordered 30 Assorted Heavy Pullets, 5 Assorted Heavy Cockerels, 9 Straight Run Red Silkies and 6 Broad Breasted White Turkeys.

How fun! I no sooner replied to this earlier and they called. Almost have my boys ready to go get them! I ordered 2 Welsummer pullets, 2 Buff Orph pullets, 2 LF Blue Cochin Pullets, 2 Cuckoo Maran Pullets, and one each welsummer and EE cockerels. Out the door now!!

My chicks came in!!!!

One silkie was DOA and 1 turkey and 1 chick aren't looking so hot either. The others however are running around like crazy already! So far some of the chicken breeds I think or know I have include: 1 SLW, 1 RIR, 1 EE, 1 Black Jersey Giant, some Dark Cornish, some Gold Sex Links, some White Jersey Giants, some Black Sex links, the white chicks and some chicks that are black bodied with a brown face (no stripes on back or face like GLWs have though) Here are some pics:

Ok so I now KNOW what my 30 pullets are (they wrote them down on one of the sheets) they are: 5 Gold Sex Links, 5 Black Sex Links, 5 Dark Cornish, 5 White Rock, 5 BB Red Malay and 5 White Giants. So the males are probably the RIR, the BJG, the EE and the 2 with the brown face and black body.

I was looking through the chicks again and now I know my 5 cockerels. They are 1 Easter Egger, 1 Rhode Island Red/ Production Red, 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 1 Buff Orpington and 1 Black Jersey Giant.

Awesome! I lost a Welsummer a short while ago. No clue if it was a pullet or cockerel though. The others are doing well. They sent 9 packing peanuts along, white leghorns I think.
