lots of hatcheries(Meyer, Murray McMurray, Ideal, etc) offer buff brahma pullet(girl) chicks...so you'd just need to pick a hatchery and order from them. you could also hatch eggs but you get roo's and not be able to tell the difference between them till they were 4-6 weeks old

Just placed an order from Ideal Poultry for assorted geese. They had them on sale for $5.75 each!

I got my geese less than two days later! I ordered them Tuesday evening, and they shipped out that same night! I got them Thursday morning, and I'm over 1000 miles away!

The geese arrived in great shape! The only thing I wish is that I had been e-mailed a tracking #, but no biggie!

Received my chicks yesterday 20 ordered one dead on arrival others doing good got 6 buff orpingtons female and 1roo 6 barred rock hens and was supposed to get 6 black astralorp hens but the hatchery called and said they didn't hatch so got 6 Delaware hens

I am new to this chicken stuff, but can't wait to start.Coming this Thursday. So EXITED!! I am getting 4 Black Australurp's. If one does die can I order one chick from a hatchery. Also, which hatchery is best?

Usually hatcheries require you to order a minimum of chicks. For example, I use McMurray and in the summer you have to order at least 15 chicks. In the winter it's 25. Different people have different opinions and experiences with hatcheries. Personally, I like McMurray. I've had very good luck with them and their customer service is great.

I got my chicks from Ideal Hatchery today. 2 days to my PO.
They looked tired, but seem well. So far no fatalities.

5 Naked Necks F
3 Crevecoeur SR
5 Mottled Houdan SR
6 Madagascar Game 2 M 4 F
4 Russian Orloff F 1 M
3 Cream Brabanters F

My friend also hatched for me:

9 Silver Pencil and Partridge Rocks.

These were from eggs shipped from a breeder of quality Rocks.
All the chicks are the same age, but the Rocks are substantially larger and more vigorous.
All the chicks are together.

I can't wait to see them grow.
