This is the other end with the feeder and door that will have my auto door opener when I move it out back, I posted a picture of the nest boxes and roost earlier in the post.

Okay, officially my first post. Been lurking for awhile.. BUT I am building a coop this month, so this is perfect!
Thank you for the thread--can't wait to see everyone's creations!

. So glad people are actually on my thread! I thought I wouldn't have anybody. Don't forget to vote!

im glad you started this thread. I love seeing other peoples coops. I will post pictures of my new coop hopefully another week.

I just accidentally found this challenge post. I was really looking for how BYC determines if you have a small, medium or large coop. Can someone answer this for me? We started on what we are calling our mini coop yesterday (3/2/14) to hold our 6 chicks until we can get the larger coop made.
We have some of the framing up just waiting on the weather to give us a few more pretty days to work. I will try to take pictures in the next couple of days when its not raining.

WOW !! That is some really nice coops!!!! I rednecked mine. Lol all material was free except for the netting on top. So I got $30 in it, but it's a fortress against predators!! Don't think I'll win but it's my little heaven :D

I think it's a self-policed decision on the 'size' of the coop. Generally speaking while browsing the coops on the support page, it seemed to break down like this:

Tractors: Any size Chicken tractor that was movable
Small Coop: Any coop / hen house + run that could accommodate 4-5 chicks maximum (w/ 4sq ft per full size bird)
Medium Coop: Any coop / hen house + run that could accommodate 5-10 chicks maximum
Large Coop: Any coop / hen house + run that could accommodate more than the above.

That's based off the number of nest boxes available + real interior space that I'd see them having for roost space.

I am envious of your space. I just have to keep up looks for the neighbors or mine'd be the same as yours. ;)

I am also digging the siding (your daughter ?) did. Good use of resources for sure!
