Baby time!

Got my 6th peafowl egg today. It was probably layed last night. This egg was a 3 day egg. She must be coming back down to 2 days. This one was a little bumping towards the pointed end. Most likely from extra calcium.

Just call me the meddler... Had one that didn't sound quite right, so I decided to take a peak at around midnight.

Not sure what malposition one would call this. Anyone know?

Had a 'sticky' chick hatch the other day that when I found it in the hatcher it had been stuck on its back to the floor for a few hours. When I would upright the chick it would push itself over onto its back again, it just could not stay right side up and its toes were curled tight. So I made shoes for it and put it in the 'burrito'.

It didn't look very happy about that, but the next day it looked to be much improved.

Later that day I took off the snowshoes and all the toes but one were pretty normal looking.

It is running about with its clutch mates now and the only difference I can see is it is the runt of the litter, just a little smaller than the rest.
It is out of an IBBS split Cameo cock over a Cameo hen, it looks Cameo to me.
What material did you use to make the shoes?

Bandaid Flexible Fabric fingertip and knuckle is on the package. I use the large regular strips, but ran out so now I am down the fingertip ones that look like a butterfly. They are just the right size and don't really need trimming and work very well for fixing the toes, just cut them in half. I have another chick that I am documenting now but don't have time to post all the pics and tell the story, I have a lot to do this weekend. The second one also had twisted ankles so it took a different approach to hold the foot straight used medical tape for that one. The sad part is that it is not day three and I will need to start tubing some fluids because the process is keeping it from eating and drinking.

How many peafowl eggs can you fit in your incubator when the eggs are on their sides. I think my incubator will only be able to fit 9.
