If he hadn't pipped internally by now I really doubt he was ever going to be able to for whatever reason, so think of this as giving him a fighting chance!
OK, we're done for now. I thought we were doing pretty good, only a small drop of blood. The membrane didn't bleed so I kept using a Q-Tip to pull the membrane back making the hole bigger and bigger so I could see what I was doing. Then I broke a vessel and sopped up about three Q-Tips worth of blood. Finally found the head down quite a ways and covered with the wing. Doug out the wing and now it is breathing and resting in the hatcher.
Like making sausage, kind of messy... not easy holding the wing out of the way and getting the light so you can see.
Think I will wait until later this morning to help it out, unless it tries to kick out itself. I am waiting for the kids to get in from Tejas so I'll be up for a while anyway.
