I guess I didn't wait long enough for my shipped eggs to settle. I have many saddled air cells. I increased humidity today. If I get any chicks from the shipped eggs I'll be happy. I'm happy I purchased the Cream Brabanters even more now.

Saddle shaped can hatch, had many of them do it so don't lose hope...

I know! Where does it stop? And when I candle and someone's not developing, I'll have to put replacements in.....

Yup... oh, and then the different breeds are uneven, so you'll have to add more of others to even it out... then you happen to see so-and-so lay an egg and you want to hatch it too, since you know who's it is... and another just finished molting and started laying again, so you gotta make sure some of her eggs go in...

And...

Oops...

Need another bator...

6 of 7 of mine are still going!!! Looks like 12 hours at room temp can't stop these beastly eggs, dang.

Anyone decorated their chicken yard or coops up real nice for Halloween? I'm thinking next year I want to involve my chickens in it somehow, have kids come around back. Maybe I can give them treats to feed the chickens along with their candy, if I can find something healthy enough. I want an excuse to be sitting with them to make sure they aren't stolen!
