somebody was up early and thinks they are funny!

3 active pips yet.....

The other 2 no pippers...The big one looks like it's gonna do internal as it's popped in back now or it's upsidedown, the other one without internal is still alive for now but it's not gonna be 4 long cause it's upside down and I don't assist anymore so those two are on their own.

Sorry couldn't get entire inside on one shot

kids that get on bus here are here.... There was a bator here this morning! They got to see 2 hatch! Glad I have the lil cooler up here! Now I realize how that big coolerbator incubating in bulk wasn't much fun at all trying to get orders out and forgetting what your creating! This was so fun!!!! Thank you so much everyone I so needed to do this again and chat with friends

He's lonely and loud and gets louder when he bites his own toes. He sleeps when I pick him up and hide his toes. He's a black split lavender Ameraucana. He needs a friend so one of the remaining eggs better hatch this week. The 4-week old chicks would be too big.

My kids are the reason I started hatching. Thank you for reminding me that turning this into a business is not without its drawbacks. Congrats on the great hatch and getting your roo.

All this incubating, candling, pipping and hatching talk is making me sad. It's just too cold here in winter to brood chicks outside, and I am not raising chicks in the house over the winter!

Come on, spring!
CHICKEN!!!!

A big word I forgot to mention Sally about Spina Bifida prevention. Folic Acid!

You find it in leafy greens, and of course, they really really insist on the mother taking her prenatal vitamins because there is a lot of folic acid in them now. Eating healthy. It take 3 months for the baby to develop to it's full body function, then, it just grows. While the body it taking shape, the spine starts to close up, from the top, and from the bottom, and should meet together completely. At times, it doesn't meet up, and close all the way. It's according to where it doesn't close, and how much the spinal cord is left uncovered, as to how much damage is done. My son's opening is at L5. He is paralyzed from the waist down.
Scovy, your spinal cord must not have been involved..exposed? Just your spine/bones involed..a space in there somewhere.
There is Spina Bifida, and Spina Bifida with Myelomeningocele..they just use the short cut..Spina Bifida for it. My son's spine was out when born.

Thanks all for the comments. Had to get that out there. It's been a while since I've gone and spoken on it. Used to do that a lot. Here is good. Just for today.
