They are on day seven. One of my hatch's the power went out 6 times!

Wow, how did that hatch go?

Well, at a week, bet they are doing fine. They just got a bit chilly. A lot of folks believe that if the temps were low for a while, then they will hatch later. Just don't go and try upping the temps to catch up..keep them where they were.

Im doing my day 7 Candle tonight, and I am Very exited! I want 2 chicks. More would be Great. but two I would be happy. there are 7 eggs

7 babies would be great! Can happen. :) Let us know how the candling went!

We usually wash the incubator out with vinegar. But the last two times we washed with bleach everything let it set for a day in bleach. It was so bad. It had blood of unhatched eggs. I will through out on 20 th I just monitoring that incubator right now . The ones that need to be transferred will not be tell 21.i have some time to adjust pray and make peace and ceremony because life was lost. They will have a proper burial to or beliefs. We also baptize each incubator every time we put eggs in.so they don't die or be in vain. I try to teach my son correctly as I can and still uphold or beliefs to God. Sorry we do most things old school.tracy in charge.then me and then my children and pets. The reason for selling eggs in gods eyes is money. Eating the eggs is beginning of life.we can't control life and death. We can eat the chicken or sell chicken for home expenses .

haha I am waiting too. Today has been productive so i don't try and candle 5 times. I have made 2 loaves of banana bread and 12 mini banana bread mini muffins and have knit tons

Please don't think that I was putting down your beliefs. I just want to help you avoid continuing in the same sad story of no hatches. It's clear you are trying very hard but not getting better results.

Once you have an empty incubator that consistently reads 99.5 degrees at the top of the eggs if it has a fan, or 101.5 if it doesn't have a fan, then set your very freshest, naturally cleanest eggs from the pens with roosters. Turn them at least three times a day, very gently. Candle them gently after 7 days, you should be able to see blood vessels in eggs that are developing. Look at the air cells. By day 7 they should be about the diameter of a nickel when looked at from above. If much larger, add damp sponges and keep them damp until day 14.

Continue incubating the developing eggs and on day 14, candle again. The air cells should be the diameter of a quarter or dollar coin. If too small, remove the sponges. If too large, wet the sponges again and keep them in there.

On day 18, stop turning and candle once more. The air cells should be considerably larger, and starting to tilt down one side. Keep the sponges wet, keep the humidity up to at least 65%.

Day 19 or 20 you may see signs of hatching. Day 20 or 21 should be hatch day. By day 23, healthy chicks should be done hatching.
