again NO water for now until you get a DRY reading, it may be enough in your room as it is.

dont feel dumb! you just can skip making the same mistake most of us made, because you found us sooner than we found us!

if that just made any sense at all! I would soak it ALLup. If you calibrated and you have a fan I would set your temp to 100. to 100.5 in the bator. do you have a turner in it? I would make use of tiny plastic cups to add and remove water as needed NOT the bottom wells in the bator UNTIL lockdown. its easier to add and remove water. if you are using a turner you can use those tiny rubbermaid containers and set them in a egg slot. also keep eggs away from the motor near the turner motor, those do get warmer than the rest of the bator. rotate eggs in the bator every couple of days as well. just in case you have warm and cooler spots even though you have a fan.

I am thank I found out only hours after setting them. I do have the autoturner and one of my thermometers is right next to it measuring at 100 degrees. pulling all the eggs out for a few minutes won't hurt them right? I know momma hens have to get off the nest some time. I will dump all the water and put in a dixie or medicine cup of water,

Okay water is gone, one egg did roll out of the turner when my toddler accidentally bumped it, no cracks or anything since the turner was already on the floor, whew. I'll keep an extra close eye on that egg though. digital hygrometer is now reading at 56%, so I'll check again in an hour or so. I have another one that reads at 40% i think it's accurate but its needle is really slow to move.

I use glad food container for humidity in the styro bators:

Each one will raise humidity 5 to 10%. Sometimes I use one and sometimes I use two. They fit tilted on one side of the turner rail.

Cut an opening in the lid, fill with water up to the opening and place them on the rail between the turner and the side of the incubator.
this is the kind Ron uses with auto turners, in my small coolers I turn by hand
