Rancher...I am sorry I am missing you again but family comes first so don't fret. Maybe you can have one of your roosters stand in for you!

Better yet, I will bring one of my silkie roos as your stand in and we will call him rancher all day!

Well now I do have C.Rock eggs in the incu so if they hatch I can send a C. Rock rooster as I have three.

However you do realize that any Rooster will have to have a tin foil hat on?

I am really bummed about missing this since I've been planning to be there.

I will have DD save lots of eggs for hatching to send if someone says they'll pick them up.

Some books on chickens of course. And other things.

I'm sure someone can take charge to deal with them. I want Nutty to get lots of money with the auction.

I will have internet so perhaps I can get some pics of what's what and maybe bid over the internet. Anyone got Skype?

I am sincerely sorry to have to tell you all this. Well sort of sorry. I won't be coming.

DD has asked us to stay longer since she has to work a week after having the baby. Of course Dad will be home, but DD wants her mother. I didn't want to come back alone.

That said, I wonder if there is someone who can stop and pick up some things here to take for me. Not necessarily chicks or that sort of thing. Perhaps some eggs for hatching. Nutty can decide what to do with them.

My other DD will be here to take care of things while I'm away.

Also some things for the auction. Non animal things.

Again I do apologize but I don't know when I'll get to see the baby after this time.

I have someone coming Sat for chicks in the brooder. We're trading for some help cleaning.

I haven't made up my mind on the older birds in the brooder. They're Dels and one Blue EE.

I'm waiting on this hatch of C.Rocks and Dels from VA. Due this coming week. If it's a decent hatch, aka any chicks, then the previous older hatch will go. They're about 8 wks and should be fine outdoors. I'll keep you posted.

We are sad to hear you can't make it, but family is first!! You know I'll take some more of those birds off of your hands - I'm loving the clutch I have now!! I keep trying to recruit my daughter to hold chicks for me for some pictures of each line - she keeps being tired after working 3 jobs and working on her second degree full time - ugh, kids these days!

No Need to Apologize ! It is more important to stay with your wife ..
If I had grandchildren ...I would choose seeing them ...before chicken meet -ups .

I took the trip up there on the Wonderful Rainy Wednesday with my Sis ..

Got 4 -100 lb bags of Layer & 100 lbs Cracked corn ..Hauled it in my Honda Accord ..
It Only took 1/4 a tank of Gas ..not bad at all . 1 hour & 20 min each way
We had fun shopping too .
I guess I should have got some chick feed ....Little TT is broody

I'm going to have to do that run myself now - my daughter was supposed to pick up a couple hundred pounds of feed and drop off eggs. Then I got the phone call that her car was leaking fluid... She blew a head gasket. We spent 4 hours sitting on the side of the road with her waiting for a tow. He boyfriend drove out and picked her up, while my husband and I sat with her car waiting for the tow guy... Now I have to buy feed locally to cover until I have a spare moment to drive out! I have nearly 2 dozen hatching eggs for nutty to rebuild her flock, that are now hanging out again.
**sigh** off to the local feed store again shortly...

....and that's quite the broody glare going on there!!!
