2015 Pea Prices

ok......so I live in south louisiana.....as in many prev mentioned scenarios my peahen was also lost in the breeding season due to free range situations.....my only up side is not only was I able to salvage 4 of the 5 eggs.....but we have a lone survivor from sept last yr but since "it" is all white and not past a yr yet I still dont know what "it" aka Tiki baby is......Im kinda thinking female...but me what do I know......so anyway I digress......so I am pretty sure 2 of the 4 eggs hatched today....(another one of those I put eggs under this broody chicken and found babies in the next nest over kinda thing.....and add to the fact that I was not home and hubby pulled the evening eggs...well...we all know where this is going) so.....anyway....I have 2 what I think are peafowl (cause they are not chicneks and they dont have snoods)...again...digress......are all peafowl white when they come out or is there some color.....and if they are all white when they come out at what age do they get their color.....and if they are all white is that more valuable then a colored on.....I wouldnt think so but again....me....what do I know.....oh....btw I have your typical bs pair....

yep....thats what my babies look like now.....so what if they dont turn colors.....last yrs still does not have any color.....do the white ones carry more value then the colored ones....I would not think so but again...what do I know....

If the chicks are white they will stay white, if they are yellow they will turn colors. As to what is more valuable, well, it is supply and demand. When I first started you could not give me anything but a 'pure' India Blue, many people are still like that. Now I am in love with all the different colors and varieties. I only have the IBs because people still want them and they help pay the feed bill.
