2015 Peafowl Hatching Support Group - Eggs and Chicks!

The eggs you sent me last year didn't lose very much compared to those numbers... Will send a picture of those numbers later. Think they all lost 12-14%, but have to look.

Oooh that's odd isn't it? I wonder if the climate where the parents are and the egg was laid could influence how much the egg should lose?

So I increased my humidity and am going to weigh them each day so I know they are not losing too much but wow Cathy you had some live with 19-21% loss. That seems awfully high

Well crap. I just weighed them again and they already lost 1 gram. Day 25 is Saturday so do you think it's a bad idea to go ahead and bump humidity up to like 75%?

#s for today : Day 22
#2: set 110g Day 22 - 91g
#4: set 126g Day 22 - 112g
#6: set 131g Day 22 - 114g
#7: set 132g Day 22 - 115g

I can't offer any advice, 'cause this is only my second time weighing eggs.

Yeah, I was worried about them, but they hatched unassisted.

Mine are due to hatch Sun. or Mon. and they've only lost 9% , they're gonna drown! I liked it better when I didn't weigh them!

I added one more from my 3 year old split white pair last night, so up to 21.

Sadly most came from pens with yearling and two year old males, so I doubt many of them are fertile.

Of these, I have only four that look viable.
