Very weak. Wings are fully stretched out, it has problems lifting it's head, the hawks are locked up close to the body.

Quote: Need a picture. What is your brooder temp? Have you seen it poop yet?

Have you been handling it alot, really should be left in the brooder to fluff up and get to it's feet , when they first hatch they are so tender and you get a bubble butt chick and they are swollen up in the back you can easily bruise their tender bodies, they down helps cushion handling some so IMO unless you have some kind of emergency they should be left in the brooder for 24 hours no touchy

Congrats!Third and Laziest hatch so far. Had 5 eggs, but one was dead at lockdown, so we removed it. That left 4 and 3 internally pipped, 24 hrs later one had pipped internally and externally at the same time and on the opposite side as the air cell. I put air holes in for the other 3 as they had been chirping away but no cracks in the shells yet. Waited another 24 hrs. and still no progress so I started peeling, spent all day yesterday peeling these 4 out of their shells. They were ready, no bleeding and clean navels, just wouldn't do the work themselves. Ended up with 4 healthy babies, a pied, a silver pied, a spalding split white, and another IB split Bronze, BS and white.![]()
