I was born in the Johnson years, saw the aftermath of the Nixon years, watched Ford fall down the steps of Airforce One......ouch , heard Carter tell me to put a sweater on, watched Reagan get shot, George H.W.Bush say "read my lips",Bill Clinton say" I.......err....I think I'll just skip that one, George W. Bush wait 14 months to into Iraq(while Saddam sent the stuff to Syria) and watch Obama change things so much I don't recognize my own country...........I am fed up with politians

Reading through these posts and encountering over and over again the echoing sentiment of disdain for BOTH Clinton and Trump, one really has to ask HOW on EARTH did they manage to get so many primary votes???

I realize the handful of people on this thread is a teeny, tiny, miniscule little sample of America, but still, I hear the same comments at literally every turn.

Perhaps my question is rhetorical, but I still wonder...

I agree. I've heard it from both sides also. And I have wondered about it too. No matter what happens and in whoever wins there's going to be a lot of people not happy.

So like most Americans im now forced into picking the lesser of two evils, or rather voting against the one i think would make a much worse pres. Hillary may be deeply flawed and even corrupt, but imho that pales in comparison to trumps, uh, "flaws..."

actually, i dont think america should even have a presidency. its undemocratic in the first place. but thats a different discussion.

a note on "socialism": theres a big difference between socialism and a socialist democracy. socialist democracy is basically the corner stone and inspiaration of most modern democracies around the world--which is why we have a postal service, public schools, public roads, social security, etc etc. some countries just incorporate a bit more socialist elements than others, and there are tradeoffs either way.

ps: the poll needs an "other" or "write in" option to be more accurate!

Democracy really doesn't matter...we're a Constitutional Republic...not a Democracy or Socialistic Democracy.

Neither of them are great. But honestly, the things Trump says about women and minorities are pretty horrific.

That's what the media says, but if you really listen closely, he's not racist or sexist at all. He just needs to put his foot in his mouth sometimes so the media can't twist his words

What I want to know is if all of these people are choosing between the better of two evils, who picked the evils in the first place?

I've never meant someone who liked Clinton before she was the Democratic Nominee. But then, I do live in a mega-Bernie place. Literally, everyone in WA is a Sanders supporter.

It is hard to vote for Trump as a Republican, especially after everything he said in the Primaries.

Yeah. Well, as long as America can hold it together until 2020, we'll be okay. We all know that Trump or Clinton will only get 1 term...unless the American people pull out a terrible candidate again
