2017 Gosling Hatch a long!!

Pics
Sebbies typically hatch 29-30 days, depending on size of egg and temperature of bator. A half degree up or down can affect total incubation by a full day.

If the gosling has not internally pipped, then keep humidity lower. Once pipped, then raise to 75%. I add a soaked sponge to bator to increase humidity.

Ok. I'll take the sponge back out then. I'm having a difficult time seeing any internal pip because of that crazy air cell. Hopefully it works out ok.

I'd really like this baby to hatch.

So my African started laying in Mid-late May. One of my Rouen ducks went broody on the eggs. A couple weeks ago a copper maran hen joined her. Checked the nest today. One egg peeped at me and another was scratching inside. Husband wants me to bring them to the house to hatch. He's worried chickens will kill them. I want them to stay a bit longer. Suggestions?

Everything I've read has said that chickens and ducks can raise them just fine, but I haven't experienced it myself. Keep us updated!

I had a muscovy duck and buff orph go broody in the same box. They jointly hatched and raised up one chick and 9 ducklings. It was strange, but it worked really well for them.

Also, I got a pair of colored sebbies tonight, and my oldest is thrilled.
