2017 Gosling Hatch a long!!

Pics
One might be, I saw possible blood vessels, but not sure. The other is just yolk, but it's not settled at the bottom and not sloshy or anything so I'm going to wait and give it more time.
Ooh I really hope they are just late starters then! The Gosling I assisted was an egg that didn't show development till later than all the others. And it was slower than all the others all the way through...but it goes to show that if you give them a chance, sometimes it pays off!
Fingers crossed for you!:fl

Thanks you, I hope that's the case. I'm just so darned excited over these guys. DH said if I don't chill I'll be a complete basket case by the time they hatch! Lol

My family got to the point where they would shout "Mum! They're HATCHING!!!" Then they'd fall about laughing at my reaction. Or say things like "Gosh do you think a mummy goose draws a graph?"
Such a supportive lot. :lau

Now I just ignore them and talk to the lovely people on BYC instead!

No news on the 1 I still think might be viable. I'm leaning towards no though. 1 egg stank so I eggtopsied. I would say it was 3/4 developed. So I still have 2 in. 1 still have hopes for, the other probably not. Besides the power outage, I had had trouble with stable temps before. Sigh. I definitely need a better, more stable bator. I may weigh next time as well though it won't be here until mine start laying. Even then I think I'd rather the geese hatch them!

My gateway poultry has some interesting news. 1 of the button quail has gone broody which is pretty rare for them. I don't know how long she has been at it because I haven't been paying enough attention to them. I kept up on food and water of course, but left eggs in there. Must have hit a magic number for her lol.
I've got to find out what to do with the chicks once hatched, assuming she doesn't quit. I don't want to move her, but she is in a small aviary with 4 other adults.
