2017 Gosling Hatch a long!!

Pics
I think we have internal pip? What do you think? Is that beak? Do I give a safety hole? Do I walk away and try not to look at it. Lol
Looks like it to me!
I would get your humidity up and wait. If no external pip within 24 hours think about a safety hole but I'm the meantime just wait! Has there been any clicking or peeping from inside the egg?

I've never felt the need for a safety hole. The risk for drying out inner membrane is too great. Get your humidity up to 75% and drop your temp a degree (I prefer 97F at egg level) and be patient!

No I must admit I never needed one though it was SO tempting to do one!
You're right, patience is key! It's the hardest thing to just watch though isn't it?! ;)
We're right here with you WRVgirl :hugs

Humidity is sitting at 72% with a sponge and all. I can not hear anything over the noise of the incubator and my silly refrigerator.

I hope everything turns out. I'm so nervous. I know I'll feel better once I see an external pip.

May I suggest going out for a while?
My family dragged me away from the incubator to a local church fete for a couple of hours as I was going blind just STARING at the incubator...:lau:lau
I got back to an external pip:celebrate

Leaving for a few hours at a time is best way to leave the bator alone. If you insist on hovering over it and obsessing, get a stethoscope, place on top of viewing pane and listen. Of course you will hear the buzzing of the fan and fridge. But eventually, if internally pipped, you will start to hearing a faint clicking that will get louder and louder until you longer need steth to hear it over the background noise.

Lol. Thanks y'all. I'm partially kidding, but kind of not :D

I have soooo much unpacking to do right now and my husband is on our 3rd dump run of the day for boxes, I've partially unpacked everything but now I'm trying to squeeze it all into anywhere it fits! Lol

Nothing new to report as of yet. I've been periodically checking as I go through the kitchen.

What is it? 24 hours from internal to external pip?

Gosh yes of course, you have plenty of distractions with moving too! It must be crazy at your house! Ha ha! Sounds like you have good teamwork going on tho.
I read somewhere that they have enough oxygen for up to 48 hours in the air cell, but most goslings externally pip within 24 hours of the internal pip. One of mine was closer to 36 hours and I did start to sweat...but then it hatched the fastest after that!

Only day 29 today so I'm not panicking quite yet, just super impatient (but now I'm also nervous because it's just one more thing to take care of) :D

Hopefully tomorrow morning we will have a nice pip and I can start really watching for progress.

Thank you all. I'm so glad I've got this thread to vent on. Lololol

I know it really helps to vent on here doesn't it?!
It made a huge difference to me too. And now I obsess over caring for my bundles of fluff instead ha ha :lau
