2018 Hatchalong

Any action?

I was curious so I candled about an hour ago. One's air cell has really dipped down and there's some shadows in the air cell. Looks like the baby is starting to push against the membrane. The other 2 are still wiggling, but look a bit behind.

We had one day where the power went out and I had to take the eggs and sit with them in a hot car to make sure they didn't get too cold for too long. I'm wondering if it delayed them a bit.

I bet you are right, that could slow them down. Then again bigger breds take longer according to some articles I've read. Seems geese hatch on their own schedule, never read the articles I did I suppose! Keep us posted.

A power outage would delay a hatch by a bit but if it was only 1-2 hours power outage it shouldn't make a huge difference.

My Goslings were all put in the incubator at the same time. The first few hatched while the rest hatched a day later :)

It depends on the gosling itself and how old the eggs are. The older the egg the longer it will take to hatch ( not with all old eggs but with most). I've heard females hatch faster than males too :)

Your eggs will be fine!

The outage was at least 10 hours (I woke up to the power being out and got them into the hot car ASAP, but don't know how long it had been out before that).

Oh ok yeah well if 10 hours than it will be delayed for about 14 hours. Hope they're doing ok?
