Who knows what they really are haha TSC employees (generally speaking) don't know chickens. But that's OK,you can get good deals that way.

That is a good point! I wish we could have more than 5 hens where we are now I’d buy ALL the chickens

Same here. 5 isn't enough. I have my hen,Blue,and 4 chicks. I'm so new I'm like "OMG THEY ARE HAVING A SEIZURE!...No,wait...dustbath."

We don’t even technically have ours yet and I want more can’t wait for dust bath/seizure confusion!!

To be fair, I had the same reaction when one of my chicks was rolling around in the shavings. It doesn't really work well in shavings to begin with and for some reason those half feathered chicks just look like they're dieing when they try xD

They had their first field trip out to the adult coop today!!
43°, 4 weeks old, didn't give one crap about the cold xD
They spent 45 mins exploring and digging around before they even showed signs of being cold. Then I took them in, but for sure they could have just warmed up in their MHP if only they could have stopped exploring to warm up for 5 mins! Haha
I'll take them out again on Saturday for a while, and then Sunday I think I'll let them spend most of the day out there as long as no problems since Sunday it's going to get up to 50°. (Their basement is a solid 55° so not much of a change)

Elsa explored one of the adult roosts. Everyone else was too busy digging in the new shavings.

Awe,they grow up so fast! I can' wait until mine get to go on field trips outside!

Hi! I'm BBZZZZTT's Mom and I'll be inheriting 3 of her chicks. BBZZZZTT is going to help me build my coop and I'll show a picture as soon as it's done. That might be a while, we haven't started yet, lol.

My 8 Buffs last week.
1st time perched... That I've seen anyway.
I'm a first time mother hen to 8 Buff Orpington chicks. Tomorrow will be 1 week since I got them. They will be 3-4 weeks old. I've been going crazy trying to find the perfect coop plans and finally found it and got the materials today. They say it can be built in a weekend... we will see. Of course now I'm looking at the brooder. Space is getting tight so I'll have to do something there. Nothing like planning ahead! Lol

My 2yr also has chicken fever. We saw the duckling on the bottle of Dawn dish soap and yelled "BABY CHICK!" in the middle of Hy Vee. So of course,I bought it. (We actually needed it haha) She showed it to everyone in the store too saying "My baby chick..."

All here are doing well. About to get some grit later and try them with a hardboiled egg or something.
