Nope, not here! I keep checking our security camera to make sure it didn't come back. I've been telling DH since we moved to this town, nearly three years ago, I've seen raccoons when coming home late at night. Apparently all this time he didn't quite believe me! He said, "I can't believe there's raccoons here!":he
They’re almost everywhere.
I haven’t seen any signs or evidence of them around here but I’m sure they’re around.
We’ve been pretty blessed so far in that there’s hardly any predator activity in our little neighborhood.
Maybe because there’s so many dogs?
Some of them roam free.
My neighbor behind me feeds the wild doves and quail and squirrels.
I guess the predators go after them since it’s easier lol.

Frodo & Bubelah sittin in a tree... :gig

I got my first egg! I’m so ecstatic! I thought my Barred Rocks would be the first to lay but my EE cotton laid her first blue egg this morning! At 21 weeks! View attachment 1391011
:ya:ya:wee:wee
Very pretty egg!
My sex link layed her first at 20 weeks.
My Wyandottes didn’t until they were 6 months old.
Her name is Cotton? That’s a totally cute name!

We named her cottonwood but call her Cotton for short because she’s white like fresh cotton.

This is a picture of her as a chick! She’s my family’s favorite chicken!

She’s cute! I’m afraid to get white birds. Our main predators here are hawks.
I feel like they stand out too much.

My brown cockerel chick was at it again today with Hector.
He really is a terror :barnie
As soon as I put my hand in the brooder for any reason he tries to bite me.
I just push him back forcefully :smack
Somebody took a little chunk out of Agatha’s neck
We’re so close to finishing the new coop!
It’s turned out so beautiful!
My DH wanted to make it look nice in case we ever want to sell.
Especially since we did a concrete floor.
I’m glad because I need to put the newbies in the current coop/run.
Frodo was crowing again this morning!
So stinkin cute
He was answering Hector’s crow.
It’s a bit longer and louder but not like a big boy crow yet.

Moving Day!!! :celebrate:barnie:barnie

Today’s the day that the biggies go to their new big walk-in coop and the littles leave the brooder (finally!) and take over the prefab coop and start their integration process.

I just hope I’m able to get Hector and the big girls to go in. :fl:fl
I tempted them to come check it out with some raisins a while ago. :drool
That went well but they didn’t want to linger in there.
I know when it gets dark I’ll have to round up the littles in their run and put them in the coop.
The sun sets at about 9pm or so now.
We’ve had some rain coming through today...I just hope I’m not chasing chickens around in the rain...in the dark :barnie
