My Cockerel Wally is going through a hard molt, he looks like a balding middle aged man to me. Every time I look at him I crack up.

This is one of my favorite girls. Her name is Ash, she’s a BBS Ameraucana

Ahhh I've heard of Easter egger but never seen one - she is a real beauty.

You've seen bigger chickens than yours! They must be massive Lol - we went to our food/bedding supplier today and saw one of the cutest chickens ever - they are called Sebrights and are so small, smaller than a pigeon, I thought they were only about 5 weeks old until the seller told me they are adults! Gotta be the tiniest chicken breed I've ever seen.

Sebrights are adorable! They are bantams. Bantams are just small cute chickens. My mom is getting bantam chicks soon!

I got 6 eggs yesterday and another 6 today!
I also ordered some nesting pads. They were digging to the bottom of the shavings frequently and laying eggs right on the wood, and one broke!
Luckily no one ate it. Not having that problem with the nesting grass so far.

Sebrights are adorable! They are bantams. Bantams are just small cute chickens. My mom is getting bantam chicks soon!

I got 6 eggs yesterday and another 6 today!
I also ordered some nesting pads. They were digging to the bottom of the shavings frequently and laying eggs right on the wood, and one broke!
Luckily no one ate it. Not having that problem with the nesting grass so far.

Wow, that's a impressive amount of of eggs! Evidently good layers. Curious as to why they dig down and lay on the wood?

Was tempted to buy two of the Sebrights we saw but while looking at the sellers flock I almost stepped on one as I hadn't realised it had come up to my foot - it being so small - it was my daughter who noticed it and warned me to be careful - realised then it wouldn't be a good idea, even though I'd be vigilant, I'd be constantly worried I might step on one and would be devastated if I did!

Wally looks like hes put on his winter overcoat but forgotten to put on his hat! lol - He's adorable, love the deep blackness of his feathers - your girls are so pretty and Ash is a real cutie, bet she can get round you with those gorgeous big brown eyes

I had some spare fake grass and I cut them to size for the nest boxes, super clean eggs in one piece. I rinse them off once a week and that's that. Love them. Don't even know why I thought of it either, never knew it was a thing.

You know what I need as I sit outside watching for raccoons? I need to put something on the top of the fence that is slippery but doesn't smell and won't attract anything, just make them slip if they try climbing. Any ideas?

She’s a Partridge Rock- 5 weeks

This chick is my unnamed Easter Egger.
Her colors will probably be completely different when her adult feathers come in after the 3 month molt.
She is 4 weeks.

Anyone ever use barbed wire on top of enclosure? Will that keep raccoons out?
