I've mentioned this before and I will again. Collodial silver is a great thing to use for respiratory issues and you don't have to worry about not eating the eggs. It's been known to work better and faster then any antibiotics. It also works against 650 parasites, although I'm not sure what all those are.

How in the world do you treat with colloidal silver? I have a silver cream from a 2nd degree burn I got last winter, is that the same thing?

So today I was wondering, are my guys happy in the run? So I had the brilliant idea to put up tarps and cover a large area out of the run. Well I sat there for three hours with the run door open. Prince came just over to the open area and when Precious came, he blocked her from coming out, he then went back in. 3 hours and they walked past that open gate like it was closed. They happily scratched and dug in the run.

I grilled some ribeye steaks and chopped one up and gave it to the chickens. Hopefully it doesn't hurt them because they went nuts for it. By far their favorite thing ever.

While I was working in the yard I left the area open where the run is(not the gate to run) and my german shepherd quietly went over and walked the area around the run checking everyone out. I had turned the electric fence off, but she still didn't attempt to touch it(went close but didn't touch it). In the one picture Prince stepped in front of the girls and took the lead--I completely could see what he did.

No.its liquid. There are different ppms for ingested or topical. It works for pretty much everything. It's phenomenal. I bought the machine and make my own--I use it for myself, the dogs, the cats and now the chickens. you can get it online and probably in health stores.

I bought some from Amazon.
It’s a spray.
I do know you can ingest it too.
I haven’t used it yet but I read a lot of really positive reviews about it.

With all due respect to @llombardo I ask that you tread very carefully if using colloidal silver especially with how poorly Wally is. Personally I would never use it for my birds nor for my family, nor for myself for that matter. There is no dispute about it working as an antibiotic etc, however studies have proved there is a high risk of organ damage from using this. Although there are claims of colloidal silver being of low toxin studies have shown otherwise. It is an uncontrolled substance - in order to be effective the particles of silver have to be very very small - small particles are those which are deemed low toxicity and large or big particles are what do the damage and although colloidal silver is determined by ppms there is no information given about the particle size and even if you did manage to find some which guarantee small particle size, there is still a risk that the smaller particles could collect together and form a large particle which could cause serious organ damage. I just ask that you use with caution should you opt to try this, or maybe you could phone call a vet for advice?

Actually it's been proven not to cause organ damage if it's taken correctly. It's an FDA thing and it's worse in Europe then in the US. The government won't ever approve something that will take money out of their pockets.

It has actually fixed liver issues in animal studies. The warning is the same--overdosing can have the opposite effect.

Most vets will not recommend it because they don't know about it or because it takes money out of their pockets. I worked as a vet tech for years. Due to the general practices of vets I no longer work in the field, but the stuff I saw was eye opening. I no longer walk into a vets office asking questions--I walk in and tell them what I want done. They never question it or try to tell me different because the fact is I know and I'm confident.

Hello, I am new member to BYC, but I’ve been following this website for a while. I’m looking into getting chickens next year and I’m having a hard time deciding what I want. I have had lot of chickens growing up, but this will be my first time having them again in years! I would love a mixture of bantams( Cochins & silkies) and standards ( EE,Barred rock & welsummers). The problem I’m having is that I want to keep them together in a coop and large walk in roofed run, but I want the standards to be able to free range, but I know the bantams can’t where I live because of the predators. How can I let my standards free range? Do these standard breeds do well in confinement? I don’t want to have a separate coop or pen right now, so should I just choose one or the other for right now? Tia!

Sorry but I do not agree, I really don't want to get into anything with anyone we all have our own opinions and beliefs, I respect yours as I do most peoples, however the US FDA deems colloidal silver unsafe and I don't believe they would do this for any other reason than it being unsafe.

Why didn't anyone tell me chickens were so fun??? Lol!!
They're 3 weeks old today, looking different everyday. I bring them outside into the run at least once a day. After they no longer need the MHP, I'll see about opening up the coop to the run. But Diamond needs some more feathers first.
