2018 Valentine's day mail-a-long

I KNOW, RIGHT? After they had already told me that they were in transit, I got another alert that said they were in transit. I got it at 12:11... It said 12:56...

Wow. I didn't get any notification that anyone had posted since I last posted. Anyhoo, reporting back in. My chicks have been home for 8 days are are doing great. We lost 2 of the 38 that arrived in the first couple of days. I have one that is not growing at the rate of the others but otherwise seems ok but I'm watching her. *I ordered 25 cuckoo marans since that's what I already have but about a week ahead of shipping I called and asked if there was any possibility of getting some Easter Eggers with the others and I was able to add 10. The 2 we lost were EEs. They are growing like weeds and are making such wonderful chirpy noises. I could sit and watch them for hours but the room is warm and it's a bit like sitting in a sauna w/o the moisture. We had a big case of pasty butt going on so about 10 of them had to have baths to clear that up and I've added the ACV to their water to hopefully solve that issue. That's all for now. Ah, you picked her out! I promised myself I wouldn't choose favorites, but Zippy here made that impossible. Zippy is just her name for now. With all the chicks, we're going to give them "chick names" until we can figure out their personality. I might eventually name her Nessie, after the loch ness monster, after monsters that people have seen or haven't seen, after the Sasquatch, after the Squatchers, after a one of a kind pair of chickens My brain is weird.
