2019 may hatch a long!!!!!!

Pics
So the eggs I am ordering should be getting shipped tomorrow, but I'm worried because they will all by just about 5 to 6 days old by the time they get here. I figured it is but is this bad for the embryo. Do they still have any chance of hatching there will be like to eggs that is going to be three days old. Is there any reason to buy them. The person I am buying them from only has one hen so it is taking a while and I cant find any other d,uccle breeder. I just wanted to know if they will have any chance of hatching and if I should even get them. This is my first time hatching shipped eggs so I'm a little worried on how old they are. :fl:idunno
the age of the eggs is fine!

Shipping stress is a bigger cause of lower hatch rates.

Hatching of the first 11 eggs started this afternoon. So far we have:
4 chicks (blue, blue, white, splash?).
1 Chick actively chipping away.
1 Chick who pipped at 12am, made a very small attempt at opening the pip this afternoon and stalled. Haven’t seen recent movement.
1 in progress pip.
1 pip that hasn’t progressed further.
3 eggs that haven’t done anything yet.

Will upload a video shortly.

I have some eggs hatching in an incubator right now! So excited! But I have a question; I'm following the dry hatch method as I have Marans eggs in there, and I've stuck to it pretty well. Question is, I locked down on the 18th day, but then on the 19th day, the first egg hatched! So today is the 21st day, I've got about 12 to 15 chicks hatched, several pipping, and there are many more unhatched eggs, and I know I'm not supposed to open the bator till day 23, but by then the first chick hatched will be 4 days old....will she be okay to leave in there until then or should I open it tomorrow and take out the ones that have hatched and hope for the best?

Hopefully the humidity was raised to 65% to 75% for lockdown.

It is not a good idea to leave them in the incubator more than 24 hours after they hatch. Wait until you do not see pips or zips and then take the dry ones out.

The key during lockdown is to minimize the times the incubator is open

I think its head might just be vaulted more than typical? The feet are definitely funky. Little cutie has gumption anyway. It is the one that pipped at midnight. Still waiting on last 4. :jumpy

I open my incu through hatching, only enough to fit my hand in and out quick. But i am comfortable assisting, and knowing when it's time to help.

@TJChickens has lots of d’Uccle eggs.

I’m pretty sure the remaining 3 eggs are dis this morning. So... final tally:

16 Silkie hatching eggs purchased and picked up in person
11 fertile
11 at lockdown
1 died hatching
3 dis
7 live cuties (3 white, 2 blue, 1 black or blue, 1 from an egg marked blue that I thought was splash but it is still just mostly a white/silver)

I have 7 more eggs due to hatch on Friday, so I’ll be back!
