2019 Peafowl

Pics
It's almost time for our pea-chicks to hatch. She has nested about a quarter mile away from the house, so I've been checking on her. It's around 27 days at the moment so I guess it could be any day now. I didn't manage to check on her today as I had a migraine, so maybe there is a little one. I'll post tomorrow if there is and maybe get a picture.
There is two other peahens that have nested, one is on the neighbours land so I can't check on her. So I hope that they are fertile as I'm not sure how long she'd sit on them for. The other one I've yet to find. Normally after a few days nesting they come off and call for food. The only issue there is I'm not always around to hear her.
I can't wait. :D

For any of you who post baby pictures, please do let us know if it's OK to include them on the Chick Chart! (https://peafowlimagedatabase.weebly.com/peachick-images.html)

If so, how you would you like them watermarked (your BYC name? or?).
It's also helpful if you can include the ages and colors/patterns (or your guess about the colors/patterns) of the chicks in your post!

Thank you for sharing with other pea-people everywhere!! :)

I went to check her today and at least one has hatched maybe more but I didn't want to distress her. I gave her some food so hopefully the chick/chicks ate some. I do take it away at night so it doesn't attract any unwanted visitors, though we don't have any predators but just to be safe. Once all are hatched they normally go right to the tree in the meadow. When I go down tomorrow morning I'll try and get a picture. :)

Peachick 'climb / fly' when they are 10 days old ... at least.
You have to go home with their mother every night!

We shall see. I've been a couple times today and two chicks were out eating. She stood up and I could only see one egg left of the five. Do you guys/gals remove the eggs shells for her? There is two shells underneath which seem to take up room from the chicks. I'm going back down in an hour so I'll try and get a picture. I kept forgetting to take my damn phone, I'm hoping there is at least one out for a photo. :)
One is completely yellow, which is a first for me.

I only got one poor photo, I'll go down with the actual camera tomorrow.
The yellow chick was out but went under to quickly.
