2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

Nothing scarier than to look out your window and seeing a rabid raccoon walking up your driveway screaming. My dh took care of that one. Then had another encounter with one also .. I don't take a hike or walk without a gun. Eastern NC just had a bear with rabies.
Just learned from the folks around us that it is the same situation here in WV!

I also meant to say so sorry. So much work and attachment. Sorry you had to see and hear that. Funny but my Buffs were always the most susceptible to predators.
It might be their friendliness that adds to their vulnerability. My buffs are super-friendly and the drake is like a little teddy-bear, i could hug him the whole day and spoil him with worms, but it wouldn't be good for both of us. The white layers are bitchy! They even jump their brooder-companions now. Nona, my smallest Runner duck is afraid of them.

was it your drake or one of the two hens?

Two half drakes?
Which half I wonder. Top, bottom or split vertically??
I did not mean it literally! - Limpy simply doesn't understand the concept of mating, when Nona flattens out for him and tries to seduce him, he runs around her rasping concerned as if he is afraid that she is sick. And the little Buff Orpington drake is way too young…
