2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

You can unscrew the bottle from the bottom, clean it (!), fill the bottle with water and turn the whole thing over:

It lasts for a few seconds… Just kidding! I have to refill it 4-5 times a day.
Filled up at ~10pm it lasts barely for the night, together with the three-hole Apple-Cider bottle-waterer.

I had the quart and the gallon from previous batches. When I go to the gallon is when the brooder gets wet. But I don't have to get up several times in the night to refill. I think the gallon would fit in your set up. It's bigger but should fit. Not as much room for the lings around it. Probably have one at TSC or your local feed store

Even easier: Just hold it under the spigot, rinse all the dirt out and fill it up through the drinking holes. 30 second job!

Magpie Blue is still the lightweigth even though she is catching up. Forest is gaining weight but has been overtaken by a Magpie and a Buff-Orpington by now.

Update on Forest: Her leg is getting better and i had to rescue her only twice today, once she got stuck in the Apple Cider Bottle because the Green White Layer ran into her and stuffed her into the hole up to her tiny wings. Here are two pictures of her with the hobble:

She is so p*ssed about me because i dragged her out of the MHC, but she was the last one for the scale and i was waiting for her to come out…
