2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

Pics
 Too slow, they're back out again, raiding the feeder…
:frow And they're back in! Things change here faster than the weather on Mount Washington. :lau

Okay tell us how you made your heating cave? Precious babies
Very easy: I bought this metal basket at the local $-store:

Ordered this heating pad from Amazon:

Then i closed off the back of the basket with duct-tape, one layer from the inside, another layer from the outside, so that no duckling can get stuck on the glue.

Then wrapped the heat pad lengthwise over the basket and fixed it with additional duct-tape. I consider myself lucky to have found such a nice basket with a cave-entrance.

So exactly which "$$" store did you find this and the water basin and basket? We have Family Dollar (which had the green basket but it was way too small), Dollar Tree, and Dollar General all within reasonable distance from us.

I bought all my stuff at this Dollar Tree, but the metal-basket was the last one they had…

I found something similar on eBay, but of course its not for 1$

The heat pad is this one from Amazon:

Standard duct-tape, gray, very sticky…

Aww, they're so cute! I hope the little hop-along duckling can recover quickly. :fl

If you don't mind a dumb question, what is the lemon-looking thing?
That is a treats-ball, you fill it with treats like meal-worms, the ducks can play with it and sometimes a treat falls out.
My grown up ducks are scared to death of this, if i put that in their house they refuse to go in, i placed it in the brooder so that the new ducks get used to it from the beginning. And i'm looking forward to some duckling soccer…
