My ankle still swells a lot over the day and the i can only walk the stairs up, downstairs i am limping, but it is getting better and better every day. I can't walk the Appalachian Trail for now, but i can get around the house. How’s your leg doing hill billy?
No only slightly stinky. More like a brie. I will try to look it up.Might have been »Limburger Käse« (Limburg Cheese) - i had a colleague in Germany who was always eating a sandwich with that cheese when he was traveling by train. It smelled so bad that he had the compartment for himself most of the time.
It is really bad! But there are cheeses with a way worse stink: »Harzer Käse« and probably the king of the stink: »Weißlacker«. That one smells like a mix of feet not being washed for months and vomit. Have no idea how somebody can even think of eating it!

I already have problems with Parmesan cheese over my spaghetti with tomato sauce…That's it. Delish with some apffel wine.
As said, that statistic may be entirely correct for wild or domesticated Mallards! But definitely not for our domesticated breeds. @WVduckchick: How fast grow Call Ducklings?
Temperatures here today were not bad for February, 15°C (59F), but it was breezy and the wind felt cold, so the ducklings stayed inside today. But i was outside to do some cleanup work and i dragged the "old" chicken-house out of the storage and tried to fit it on the work platform:

First it needs a new coat of paint and then my idea was to close the the sides of the part under the nesting box with plywood as a shelter and add a home-made run either at the side or the front, so that they have more space. The weekend can come!
That looks awesome! Would they only be that little for ever, i would abandon my desire for an aquarium immediately. And yes, projectile poop? Not only that: Sprinkles of sweet potato, banana, salad flakes and duckling starter food i had to remove from the walls. Some of it 6' high. They’ve gone from 30-35 grams at hatch to about 55 grams now, 6 days old.
I had one similar to that when I first got my Swedish. I made a cross platform and had chicks on top, ducks on the bottom. We built a platform for the whole thing to sit on that had one side solid, the other side had welded wire across it, with a pan underneath, and I put the food and water on that side. Slide the pan out from under for cleanup.
In my dining room! I eventually had to put a plastic table cloth up the wall behind because of their projectile poop!!
