I'm sorry, I bust out laughing at the description, too! Specially since the first few months of me having speedy and fancy - my mom actually made the comment about my arms looking like I was cutting myself.
Speedy takes great care not to dig her claws in now, though - ever since she sat on the bathroom sink and watched me wince, try not to whine as I put salve on the cuts to keep them from getting infected. Yes, I'm serious - she now perches on my shoulder with just her feet and will let herself almost fall off <i catch her and help her balance> and she doesn't dig her claws in at all, unless shes scared.
Fancy though... he went from scratches to pinches BIG blue and purple ones, everywhere.

Aww you poor thing, I bet the weight bowl resembled a pot on top of a stove. I take the ducklings side.
From now on you can just say they have really grown over night like the rest of us.
Memo to self. I need to order one of those treat balls.

They have not only grown over night, they have have grown their first feathers! The Buff Orpingtons look more and more brown and the White Layers have developed white stripes. But they don't like to be photographed too…

She is a Muscovy, right? Their claws are real! I've seen Muscovy ducks din Florida and their feet look like dinosaur feet - with webs.
I cleaned my scratches very thoroughly yesterday and poured alcohol overthen a triple antibiotic…
The white layers have longer claws than even my grown-up Runners! - Or maybe it is because the grown-ups run around outside the whole day, filing they nails down?

Today i started to work on fitting the old chicken cube for ducklings needs.

I re-painted the white parts with a thick oil-based paint and cut out the first two plywood walls that will close the back-part of the chicken-house so that the ducklings have protection from the weather. Tomorrow the brown parts and the plywood will be painted with an oil-based clear-coat and the plywood panels will be attached.

I have no idea! About 1.3m wide and 2.5m long (?) - This is just one single part of the house, it stands upright and for chickens the top part are two nest boxes, which i have removed for the ducklings. If you look at this picture

The part that i dealt with today is the little piece at the very end of the house…

Duckling update: Still no new weights, but there are some videos coming tonight! The ducklings had fun while i was working hard - They had a bath, while i was cleaning out their poop…
