2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

Look at the video i too this morning, at least two of the Magpies have white wingtips and the are between black and white is dark purple:
I don't care if this is "correct" for the Magpie breed, that color looks awesome! The video doesn't show it right.

I see it clearly in the picture. I will check mine today. It looks a little like the blue on George the Rouen. Will get back to you after the sun comes up.

@WannaBeHillBilly I have had good luck with 2X4 welded wire fencing on my coop. Strong enough to keep out the biggest coon and cheaper than hardware cloth. See below picture.

Nicely done! I like the screw and washer method, i used nails and plastic disks to attach the first chicken wire-strips and it is a mess…
Two by four INCH? I can reach through that and i have duck-hands! I used that stuff to protect the fruit trees we've planted last year from the WV deer and i have some left over. Tried it to keep the ducks in and they squeezed through. Are you sure no 'coon can squeeze through that? It will definitely protect against Coyotes and Foxes.
I will use this guy

to keep any predators in the future out of the duck-house. It isn't lethal to humans or larger animals (unless you're wearing a pace-maker) but it is painful! Made me jump like a 'roo once. The advantage over electric fence devices is that the charge is permanently present. Fence-chargers send out pulses every few seconds and i have seen animals breaking through fences while they were not charged. A pack of Wolfes broke out of their enclosure when i was a boy, digging under the electric fence during the short periods while the fence was without charge. They were roaming the forests around my home town and i was scared to death.

What about weasel and mink we have both in this part of the country they can get through 1” opening.
I don't have weasel or mink thank goodness. Coyote, bobcat, raccoon, pig, opossum, skunck, armadillo, hawks, eagles, owls, wild dog and snakes are about it. Beaver but I dont think they are dangerous to ducks.
Weasels, Mink & Co is my nightmare. There is almost nothing you can do against them. They even squeeze through a ½" crack in the floor or at the door. I really hope we don't have them here…
