2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

As much rain as we have had, I bet there is no shortage of spots to drill.

Ok Mini who has never been broody in her two years has gone nuts for the new ducklings. She won't let me near them and hissed and attacks. This has been bottom duck on the totem pole for two flocks and has never tried to protect herself. Today she caught the ducklings a mouse. Yuck. If my eggs hatch, I think I will give them to her to raise. RIP rat snake, you really shouldn't have eaten two ceramic eggs.

By the time the legacy eggs hatch, the muttlings should be big enough to go in with the Magpies but will Mini accept that ?

I hope so, the magpies are mean. @WannaBeHillBilly and they screech.

Maybe we should have sent that mean hen to live with the Magpies. Claudia said that Pokie drew blood from her siblings today so she was put out on the pond with the big ducks twice today. Came back both times. Pokie is so mean to the others but cannot be anywhere else but with them. Claudia has her in a cage by herself next to Twerk and Tippy.

She is taking her aunting duties very seriously. They are escorted around and shown how to do everything. Eat, drink and drill drill drill

I have no update on Daisy Duck, but i assume she is fine because i haven't heart otherwise. But here is a video from this morning, made it to show the strange scratching behavior of my drake Limpy, but there are many minutes of the Spring Ducklings eating their meal-worms and my fingers…

The local lady had problems this year and could not hatch my request for four ancona, so I have a shipment of hens leaving cackle hatchery on May 29. I could have had a choice of color if I had ordered from learycow but I wanted fewer ducks than her minimum of six. Nothing has been said so I imagine that I will get all black & white. I will give them an A+ for their answering of emails. I'll post their pictures here.
