Another reason I am so anxious to close on our new property. If SHTF, I could always hunt out along the railroad right of way , eat duck eggs, and keep the garden going. Large supply of surface water a half mile away.

It’s how I was raised. Not only did we hunt and fish, but, we butchered domestic animals at the farm. Fresh beef and pork tasted great. The bacon was out of this world. Never did really like chicken though.

I don't know, I should have probably hobbled him when he was little. His legs are way far apart and the drumsticks are very noticable. He is a very happy duck and whistles when I go see him. I have never raised drakes but the whistling is a new sound for me.

Picked out names for the eggs today. barbra, Lewis, Harry, Krishna, and Beauregard. Any one familiar with John Prine might get the reference. Something better than poop, poop and poop.
